Prong SetProng Set is the use of metal wire to hold a gemstone in place by tension. A notch is cut out on the inside of the prong to seat a stone into its place. The prongs are pulled over the top of the stone to hold it.

My fianc? has long, slender fingers so this 1.7mm setting looks perfect on her. The thin band also makes the diamond look bigger than it is. The 6 prong version makes it look more beautiful, accenting the round stone. She loves it and so do all her family and friends. Got this for my girlfriend with a heart shaped diamond and she loved it. This ring is fairly thin and I especially got it because my fianc?e has small hands (4.5 ring size) and I didn't want to overwhelm her hand with the giant superbowl rings I see some other people with. The ring was perfect. The diamonds on the band are nice and sparkly without that obnoxious bling look that rings can sometimes get. We love it.
