Prong SetProng Set is the use of metal wire to hold a gemstone in place by tension. A notch is cut out on the inside of the prong to seat a stone into its place. The prongs are pulled over the top of the stone to hold it.

I was nervous about buying a ring online for several reasons. However, I'm definitely glad I did. 1) The ring is gorgeous, and she and everyone who sees it agrees. Bottom line. 2) The stone fit perfectly. I gave the measurements, Adiamor made the prongs, and a local jeweler set the stone for $100. 3) She had no idea.
