Prong SetProng Set is the use of metal wire to hold a gemstone in place by tension. A notch is cut out on the inside of the prong to seat a stone into its place. The prongs are pulled over the top of the stone to hold it.

Absolute perfect setting
This is the absolute perfect setting for my 1/2 carat Marquise cut diamond. The taper in the setting greatly enhances the focus on the stone, and the ridge engraving provides that little something extra that differentiates it from other engagement rings.
