Prong SetProng Set is the use of metal wire to hold a gemstone in place by tension. A notch is cut out on the inside of the prong to seat a stone into its place. The prongs are pulled over the top of the stone to hold it.

Got the six prong knife edge solitaire for round .90 ct diamond in platinum, She loves how different the band looks from the regular six prong one. It's also slightly thicker. Even on a cloudy day, this thing sparkles better than any diamond I have seen locally for the price. Awesome deal and great customer service. I will come back and buy the matching wedding bands.
