Here is the transcript of the Accesso Total segment on NBC Universal’s Telemundo featuring Adiamor Diamonds & Fine Jewelry.

Host:
Alright, for those who are thinking of getting engaged this Saint Valentine’s Day and still haven’t bought the darn ring, I visited a jewelry store where I was given some information to keep in mind. Let’s see.

Contrary to what a normal jewelry store is like with display cases, we found this place in downtown Los Angeles where they make your engagement ring not only to your size but also to your special order. I spoke with Jennifer Sarkisian, one of the owners, who explained to me that after Christmas, this date is definitely the one on which they sell the most engagement rings.

Jennifer Sarkisian:
I think there’s a lot of pressure to get engaged on Valentine’s Day…

Host:
With the pressure many men are under to buy the ring on this such special date, they have to know that there are many options, and sometimes it helps to know the partner’s preference.

Jennifer Sarkisian:
We have everything from a simple solitaire, round…

Host:
Solitaires, the classic stone, square stones known as princess cut, rectangular, oval, and the ones in the shape of hearts are the most popular options. But be careful, with companies like these where orders are made on the Internet, or anywhere you buy diamonds, you have to make sure you’re not getting ripped off.

Jennifer Sarkisian:
Very important that you’re buying…

Host:
You have to make sure you buy certified diamonds. The prices of diamonds depend on four characteristics: the cut of the stone, its clarity, the color, and of course, the carats. Tomás Apata works in the part of the shop assembling them and making them just to the customer’s order.

Tomás Apata:
The first step is we count the diamonds, the ones that are going to go on the ring. We start drilling the rings to make the holes for the rings.

Host:
You’re the one in charge of mounting the stones, right?

Tomás Apata:
Mm-hmm.

Host:
In what part of the process does that go?

Tomás Apata:
You could say in the middle of the process. We polish them; after polishing you still do an inspection of the ring to make sure all the diamonds are tight-fitting.

Host:
Mm-hmm. About how long do you guys take to create a complete ring?

Tomás Apata:
It varies. It could be from one hour to, I don’t know, we’ve taken up to 10 hours, 12 hours on one ring.

Host:
But you completely finish the rings here?

Tomás Apata:
Here. We can finish them, yes.

Host:
Greetings to Tomás, to Arturo. They work there assembling the rings, and they say that at 10:00 in the morning, they always have us at Acceso Total on, so thank you very much.

Host:
Okay.

Out With The Old, In With The New: What Do I Do With My Old Diamond?

Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.

-From In Memoriam [Ring out, wild bells] by Lord Alfred Tennyson

We hope everyone’s 2014 is going well so far. As we look forward to the brand new year (while trying to stick to our recently devised resolutions) it reminds us of some jewelry we created which combined the old and new.

People often want to change or upgrade their ring, but then do not know what to do with their old diamond. Sometimes, people inherit diamonds or gemstones and want to set them in new jewelry. Instead of trying to ‘trade in’ former jewels, we recommend creating new jewelry for them. Sentimental stones can take on new life in modern settings, while you can choose the style of jewelry which you prefer. We have been lucky enough to work on several projects like this recently, and the results were phenomenal.

Our first upgrade like this was a personal favorite because it was one of our own staff’s diamonds. Jennifer had a diamond from a previous engagement ring. We created a rose gold bezel setting for it and strung it on a white gold chain to create this beautiful necklace. Jen recommends this for customers as a way to upgrade their engagement ring while still keeping their original diamond ‘close to their heart’.

Another ring we created was this impressive three halo ring- it is a three stone ring with a halo around each stone! The customer had a classic gold ring with three diamonds in it. We designed this custom setting from pictures that the customer sent us. We removed the three center diamonds from the old ring and set them in the new one, and they loved it!

One customer had a family ring with a center diamond and two sapphire side stones. The stones were all lovely, but they wanted something a little more modern with the old diamond. We fashioned exquisite diamond halo earrings for the sapphires, like ESPD5157, and set the center diamond into R2932, our twisted pave halo ring. The results were stunning!

Diamond Studs vs. Drop Earrings

The argument could be made that diamond earrings are always an appropriate accessory because they go with absolutely any outfit. This is generally true, but there are a few considerations to be made when pairing the right diamond earrings with your outfit. There are a lot of options when it comes to these sparkly ear-bobs, so knowing what’s what could save you embarrassment and discomfort when you choose to accent your lobes. And the two main types of diamond earrings you’ll have to choose between are studs and drops.

For all intents and purposes, diamond studs are always a good idea. This classic accessory really does go with everything, from sweatpants to the perfect LBD. You would be hard pressed to come up with any scenario in which a pair of studs would not match an outfit. That said, you do need to be aware of both the size and the cut when you select a pair. Those that are round-cut and on the small side (1 carat or less) can be worn at any time. If you opt for something in a larger carat or a unique cut (or something with multiple stones), you may find that they have become a bit too fancy or ostentatious for your average daily outings to the supermarket or the post office.

Drop earrings, on the other hand, are made for special occasions. Whether you’re sporting dazzling danglers that brush your collar or studded hoops, you’d better be going someplace fancy and wearing appropriately dressy attire. Donning this type of accessory to go to the gym is a major no-no (unlike studs, they could easily become tangled in hair or headphone wires, as well as slapping your face while you jog). And while you can certainly wear diamond drop earrings to run errands or play with the kids, you risk looking like a total buffoon while doing it. No, these are meant for one purpose and one purpose only: to accent your face when you’re dressed in a fabulous gown with your hair in an up-do.

So if you’re looking for an everyday fallback, get yourself some understated diamond studs. They are completely versatile and hassle-free. For something fancier to light up the night, opt for over-the-top drops that will wow everyone who looks your way. There is a trick to choosing the right diamond earring for any occasion, and by including both of these staples in your collections, you’ll be sure to sport the right look day and night.

The Significance of 3-Stone Diamond Earrings

There’s no denying that 3-stone diamond earrings are a stunning addition to any jewelry collection. Whether you get them in a sleek and sophisticated beveled setting that looks a bit like a clover leaf or if you opt for a three-prong setting that more prominently displays your stones, this is an excellent alternative to the standard diamond studs that every woman on the planet is wearing. But there is something else about these fabulous earrings that make them special, and it has to do with the number of stones.

The stones are special not only because they are diamonds (which, if you recall, last forever, are a girl’s best friend, and are often preferred when found in the rough), but they also have a certain significance. Each stone represents a time period: past, present, and future. For this reason, they are an especially good gift if you get them from that special someone that you plan to spend the rest of your life with. The three-diamond cluster is indicative of a lifetime of love, and when you look at it, that’s what you will envision.

There is one stone to remind you of the past: your first date, getting to know each other, the flutter in your stomach every time your sweetheart smiled, held your hand, or leaned in for a kiss. This stone is for the first flush of love. Then there is a stone for the present that represents the more complete relationship that has developed, one full of trust and the knowledge that you have at last found the person who makes you feel whole. And finally, there is the third stone, for the future that is yet unwritten, one in which you and your honey will grow old together, companions and lovers until the day you shuffle off this mortal coil.

And through it all, the trials and tribulations of everyday life, the joys and celebrations that inter-splice, and the many times you kiss goodnight, you’ll have a perfect, flawless, brilliant reminder of each and every moment, given with love by the one you adore. Keep this in mind when you receive the gift of 3-stone diamond earrings and realize how lucky you are to have someone so thoughtful and caring in your life, from here until eternity.

Diamond Stud Earrings: A Staple for Every Woman’s Wardrobe

There are a few items every woman should have in her fashion arsenal. A little black dress is absolutely essential, as are some comfortable and classy black pumps (good for either a night at the club or a daytime funeral, depending on the length of the hemline). You should also have one nice scarf (to cover your hair in the event of an unexpected jaunt via convertible), a slimming pair of professional trousers (for interviews or informal dates), a ridiculously large purse (there’s at least one time each month that this will come in handy), and of course, a pair of diamond stud earrings.

The classic diamond stud may come in a variety of shapes and sizes, from round to square cut and half-carat to 2-carat weights (and more), and they are the perfect complement to almost any outfit. They can be worn day and night, at the office, at home, to events, or even just on the go. But there are a few guidelines you should follow when you choose the diamond studs for certain occasions. The first has to do with size. While there is certainly something to be said for turning every head in the room with a pair of blindingly brilliant diamonds that are practically too large for your head, it’s never a good idea to be too ostentatious. Simple and understated is the name of the game when it comes to stones that you wear close to your face, so if you’d rather have people notice you (rather than your bankbook), try to stick to diamonds that are less than two carats. For daytime (or everyday wear) you may want to go with a smaller, less distracting stone, while evening events call for something with a bit more sparkle.

The two other things to consider are cut and color. The cut, in particular, can be important. Round and square cuts are standard for studs, but you can certainly opt for something a little fancier like a heart shape or a pear cut to spice up this traditional accessory. Of course, you may want to keep in mind that you’re always going to get the most brilliance from a round cut, so if your diamonds are small, the right cut could make them appear a bit larger. As for color, you’ll definitely want to get as close to colorless as possible. While this aspect may not be as important for stones that rest on other parts of your body, people will be looking at your face all the time, so an off-color stone will be a lot more noticeable.
