Frequently Asked Questions: Custom Engagement Rings

by Chris W

Designing your own engagement ring from scratch is the perfect way to find the exact ring you want. However, even with custom engagement rings, many customers have some questions. While each ring is handmade for each customer, these unique rings share a number of qualities. Additionally, while every diamond is as unique as a fingerprint, understanding a diamond’s qualities can really help you pick the right center stone. Keep reading the Adiamor blog below to see the answers to some frequently asked questions regarding custom engagement rings.

Can My Custom Ring Be ANYTHING I Want?

While your custom designed engagement ring has near endless possibilities, it can’t exactly be *anything* in the world. Adiamor carries 8 primary categories of engagement ring styles. However, these categories are quite broad, and some times they even overlap. It’s possible to have halo settings with split shank bands or a vintage inspired ring that also features three stones. Nevertheless, our in house artisans handcraft each ring after careful designing and consulting with our gem experts. This means each ring will securely hold the center stone and look gorgeous. However, this means we do not carry rings shaped like animals or yachts. To learn more about our engagement ring settings, visit the Engagement Guide today.

What Metal Options Do I Have?

The majority of rings we create are available in 14k and 18k yellow gold, white gold, rose gold or platinum. However, not every single style of ring is available in every single metal option. For more information on ring metals, visit the Adiamor Metal Education Guide.

Will Any Diamond Shape Fit My Custom Ring?

Since each engagement ring is designed in our manufacturing studio, we are able to ensure proper fitting of center stones. This means, though, that some diamond shapes are better suited for certain engagement settings. Rings specifically made for cushion cut diamonds, for example, will not necessarily be capable of handling a marquise cut diamond. However, it is possible to custom fit some settings to accommodate  special requests. If you need assistance or are unsure if your preferred diamond shape will fit your ring selection, contact Adiamor today!
