What Is The Best Way Wear Layered Necklaces?

One trend which is perfect for gifting this holiday season is layering and stacking delicate necklaces and bracelets.

Both Anne Hathaway and Kourtney Kardashian among many other celebrities have embraced these latest trends to gorgeous effect! Whether the look is casual or glam, we can all agree we want to start layering asap!

A great way to start a layered look is with a versatile diamond solitaire necklace. A solitaire pendant worn alone is elegant, classic look, but when paired with multiple other necklaces

A trend we’ve be seeing recently is symbols like diamond accented crosses or initials set asymmetrically in mixed metals like white and rose gold. This gives off a charming, effortless effect while being perfect for layering. One pendant can sit off to one side while the other necklaces are centered.

Adiamor’s new bracelets and necklaces are an ideal way to try the layered look. Featuring symbols like crosses and pyramids, the new styles come in white, yellow and rose gold.

All of the necklaces featured at left are under $500.00 at Adiamor.

Proposing on Christmas: Include the Family or Just You Two?

Popping the big questions may be one of the most high-anxiety tasks you will ever undertake. Just the thought of dropping to one knee with a ring box and seeing the look on her face as you utter those four magical words (will it be horror or happiness?) is enough to get your stomach churning, your palms sweating, and your heartbeat racing. If rejection is in the cards, you’d rather avoid the humiliation of getting spurned in a roomful of people who have a vested interest in the outcome, but your families are such an integral part of your life (and your future together) that you would love for them to be present if it turns out to be the happiest moment of your life. So when you plan for a Christmas engagement, how do you decide whether or not to include the family?

There is no simple answer. It’s going to depend largely on the personalities of those involved, as well as the family dynamic. However, there are a few guidelines you can consider to help you weigh the options. First of all, does everyone get along? If your parents don’t approve of her (or hers aren’t your biggest supporters) then you certainly want to avoid any negativity that could throw a wrench in the works. Ditto if she’s not big of being the center of attention. You need to remember that this occasion is ultimately about you and the woman you love. That should be your main focus.

Of course, if the families all approve and you think she’ll be okay with the PDA, there’s no reason you can’t add a little extra holiday cheer to the mix and heighten the bonding experience of linking your life to hers by including your current relatives and soon-to-be in-laws in this special event. This way you can avoid the issue of an announcement and there is already a feast on hand to celebrate your pending nuptials (just make sure you plan ahead and arrange for some bubbly).

In short, there are pros and cons to each position. An ill-timed proposal could backfire and ruin your holidays (and everyone else’s) if you get rejected in front of the whole family. But if you’re positive the answer is going to be yes, this could one day be a touching and humorous story to tell your children and grand-children.

Diamonds for the Holidays: Why Now is a Good Time to Buy

It’s never too soon to start thinking about holiday gifts, and what better way to show your love than by frosting that special someone with season-appropriate ice? You may be thinking that it’s a bit early to break out the mistletoe and gift wrap, but the sooner you get started, the better. Think back to the hazy recollection of holidays past, when you procrastinated right up to the end and wound up frantically scrambling for gifts with no idea what to give. Do you really want to find yourself in that situation again? You really can’t go wrong with the gift of diamonds, and there are plenty of reasons to start shopping now.

1. Sales. If you begin your search for that perfect diamond pendant, a sparkly set of earrings, or even a surprise engagement ring now, you can take advantage of lower prices (due to end-of-summer sales slumps) as well as special sales and discounts. Plus, the ability to take your time will always work in your favor when it comes to making a large purchase.

2. In-stock items. As the holidays approach and the mob heads out to shop in earnest, you’ll be a lot less likely to get good deals, if you can even find the items you want. The early bird gets the worm, so don’t delay if you have something special in mind. Otherwise you could lose out big.

3. The internet. Shopping online requires time for delivery, and once Cyber Monday hits, there are going to be a lot of packages flying around the country. So avoid any mix-ups or delays with your online purchases by getting them drop-shipped before the rush starts.

4. Returns. Buying diamonds can be a bit tricky, but one rule that always applies is appraisal by an independent jeweler. So give yourself time to verify your stone so that if you need to send it back for replacement, you can do so at your leisure.

5. Family matters. Do you really want to be hunting down that perfect pair of diamond studs for your wife come Christmas Eve? She’ll be a lot more appreciative if you’re home for the holidays instead of gallivanting in the snow for something you should have purchased weeks ahead of time.
